Donya, the Owner and Founder of Communicating Above Barriers, is a highly experienced and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist. She graduated with honors from Nova Southeastern University, earning her master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology. With over 20 years of combined experience in teaching elementary education, speech therapy, and applied behavior analysis (RBT), Donya has committed her career to helping children of all ages lead productive and fulfilling lives.
Donya’s journey is deeply personal. Having faced academic and speech challenges throughout her own childhood, she developed a strong determination to overcome obstacles and achieve her goals. This perseverance led her to become both a National Board Certified Teacher and a certified Speech-Language Pathologist.
Her firsthand understanding of the struggles faced by children with speech, language, and academic deficits significantly contributes to her success in this field. Donya’s unique perspective and extensive experience make her exceptionally equipped to support and empower children in their communication and learning journeys.
