About Communicating Above Barriers
Helping Children Build Communication, Confidence, and School-Ready Skills
Our motto says it best: Breaking Barriers and Building Bridges Through Communication. Communicating Above Barriers provides pediatric speech therapy in Florida with a strong focus on functional communication, early learning, and school readiness. We believe communication is more than words — it is how children connect, learn, participate, and grow.
Our approach blends clinical speech-language expertise with a strong academic foundation. With years of experience supporting children in K–5 learning environments, we understand how speech, language, attention, comprehension, and classroom readiness all work together.
Who We Are
A Speech Therapy Practice Built on Communication, Learning, and Connection
Communicating Above Barriers was created to help children move beyond communication challenges and build the skills they need to participate more fully in everyday life. Our work is child-centered, family-focused, and grounded in the belief that communication is the bridge to learning, relationships, and independence.
Because many children’s communication needs show up most clearly during learning, play, routines, and classroom expectations, we look beyond isolated speech sounds or single skills. We consider how each child communicates, understands, follows directions, answers questions, tells stories, solves problems, and prepares for academic success.
Our Academic Foundation
More Than Speech Therapy — Support for Learning and School Readiness
At Communicating Above Barriers, we understand that communication and learning are deeply connected. A child’s ability to listen, understand language, follow directions, express ideas, answer questions, build vocabulary, and tell stories can directly affect how prepared they feel for school and how successful they are in the classroom.
Our background in K–5 education gives us a practical understanding of what children are expected to do in real learning environments. We use that perspective to help children build communication skills that support not only therapy goals, but also classroom participation, early literacy, social interaction, and academic confidence.
